Joaquin J. Lopez is a Partner at Sanders Barshay Grossman, LLC, specializing in the litigation and arbitration of no-fault claims on behalf of medical providers and lost wage claims on behalf of individuals injured in motor vehicle accidents.
Joaquin graduated from St. John’s University in 1998. He attended Brooklyn Law School’s Evening Division, earning his Juris Doctor degree in 2002. While attending law school, he worked as Teacher for the New York City Board of Education for two years. He also interned with the New York State Attorney General’s office, Investor Protection and Securities Bureau.
Joaquin has been with Sanders Barshay Grossman f/k/a Baker Sanders, LLC since its founding in 2002. In his time with the firm, he has overseen and successfully handled all aspects of litigation, arbitration and appellate work. He has been engaged in all areas of the firm’s day-to-day legal operations. In addition, Joaquin and his fellow Partners at Sanders Barshay Grossman are responsible for some of the seminal legal decisions in the area of New York No-Fault Insurance law.
More recently, Joaquin has counseled consumers who were victims of predatory debt collection practices in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and pursued claims on their behalf.
Over the past 17 years, Joaquin has established a reputation as a fierce and knowledgeable advocate for his clients and a fair adversary among fellow litigants, judges and arbitrators in the New York City Civil Courts, Nassau and Suffolk counties.
